1. MATERIALS
#M06 deep charcoal should be identified as MC.
2. Front
With MC, cast on 59 sts….Work 37 rows of chart. With MC, work in St st for 4 rows.
3. Back
K 1 row…..With MC, cont in St st for 1.75 inches/4.5cm.
4. Sides
With RS facing and MC, pick up 20 sts….
5. FINISHING
Sew sides to front and back. Fold hems to WS and sew in place, leaving ends open for dowel to be inserted after felting.
6. Pocket
Sew pocket to WS of bag front, centering between side seams.

Shape armhole at side edge (beg of WS rows) as for back – 40 sts.

FRONT BANDS
Left Front Band
With RS facing and MC, beg at front neck edge and pick up 240 sts evenly spaced along front edge, lower edge of front, and the first 14 rows of side edge. K 4 rows. Bind off.
Right Front Band
With RS facing and MC, beg on side edge of right front at 14th row above cast-on and pick up 240 sts evenly spaced along side edge, lower edge of front, and front edge to neck. K 4 rows. Bind off.

FINISHING
Collar
With RS facing, larger needles and MC, pick up 23 sts along right neck edge, pick up 24 sts on back neck edge, pick up 23 sts along left neck edge – 70 sts.

Set in sleeves. Sew sleeve seams. Sew side seams, ending seam at 14 rows above cast-on edge.
